On June 25th 1995, Mr. Jiang Zemin- General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China came to visit and review Changchun Automotive Research Institute (now named "R & D Center of China FAW Group Corporation). President Jiang approached to the car bearing signatures in commemoration of 40th anniversary of founding of FAW and solemnly signed his name followed by the date "June 25th 1995" on the engine hood of the car. Mr. Geng Zhaojie-then general manager of FAW Group who accompanied President Jiang at this visit told the President "Tens of thousands of representatives of FAW employees signed their names on the products they make, indicating that we shall bear responsibility for product quality. We shall strive to associate our staff closely with the products we make." President Jiang said "I also signed my name on the car, as a result I shall also bear responsibility for your products."
