FIRST PHASE:
FOUNDED IN BEIJING
The Automotive Industry Preparation Group Vehicle Test
Lab was founded in No.76 Nan Chizi, Beijing in July 1950.
Th Lab once carried out scientific research, design and
different tests, including the first time plateau vehicle
test in Tibetan. The Lab also worked out China truck development
plan and lay down a foundation for the beginning of automotive
industry. In March 1956, the First Machinery Industry
Ministry Automotive & Tractor Research Office was
built up. The Office possessed more people, test equipment
and fixed assets than before; the scientific research
work was further improved, went to Tibetan to conduct
another road test and plateau utilization test for three
times.
