The R&D Center has strong capability on the development and application research of processing and materials. Besides serving FAW Group, it takes considerable research projects which have universal significance to the whole auto industry.
Now there are 14 research sections, such as metallography, sheet metal, metal mechanical performance, nondestructive test, nonmetal, fuel and oil, coating technology, electroplating, material analysis, pressure processing, cutting, high frequency , welding, laser and so on. It also has nonmetal lab and material commodity inspection lab. It has superior facility and complete measures on quality inspection of auto material, main component and part, materials and processing research. It is able to take tasks of scientific research and processing test on respects of new material, new process and new technology, and tasks of analysis and evaluation on respects of special process, process test projects, physical and chemical test and instrument, intrinsic quality of auto parts and components, material consumption rating, and so on.
